Japanese PM: G7 Leaders will discuss AI

Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio says ChatGPT and other generative artificial intelligence tools are among the topics that will be discussed at the upcoming Group of Seven summit in Hiroshima.

Kishida reportedly said that to senior executives of regional newspapers during a meeting in Tokyo on Wednesday.

The participants said Kishida told them that ways of establishing international rules for the ChatGPT chatbot and other AI tools that generate text and images will be discussed at the May summit.

The participants also quoted Kishida as saying that since South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol visited Japan, he must visit South Korea in return.
